editing my interview
48 HOURS
The 48 hour was one crazy time we had 25 + people in our team we were all sitting down waiting for the text, but it never come so I rang Craig and he said we had horror we were so happy but we never knew how hard it was going to be having a group of 25 people that means 25 differents types of personalities to talk to and work with it was definitely an experience but it was good to work with a big group as I learned more then I think I would have if I was in a small group that went perfectly the group worked well and it came out perfect in the end

3rd-year project
so I agreed to help out with the third year project
we are filing in the holidays
2nd week
anyway, I spent the second week of my holidays on the set of the 3rd years film beast of something, early mornings and normal cold Invercargill days were just the start. I spent the whole week following Tyler around helping with lighting/gaffing, I never got how important daylight was on a film set if you're shooting outside. we used 2 different types of lights they were dedos and the blonde. while on set I learnt time skills how to light the scene and talent and got to know the third years I was happy to help out.
colour correction is really easy to get the hang of all you use is RGB curves and 3 colour wheel when u get a clip you add RGB onto the clip and the first thing you do is start with the luma and turn that down or up keeping it under 1.0 and make sure the chroma is above 0.3
this site can explain what I want to say

MAY 10, 2015
so we have to do a speech and I have never actually done one every time I got out of it and managed to get away with it not this time!! so we all got a topic some hard and some not I got my presentation on interlaced and progressive scan. I had to learn what it was so I researched lots of things and finally found out that the p in 1080p means progressive so the I in 50i means interlaced. interlaced is two columns put together to make up the image of the screen and progressive is the whole screen being done at once.During the speech, I was shaky and I hated it I was glad it was over I ended up getting a c- on it but in fine with that cs get degrees.
its hard for me to explain what each stage is so I used the definition from a website
First Assembly
The editor considers all the visual and audio material collected on the shoot for each scene and then re-orders it in the way to tell the story best.
Rough Cut
The rough cut can take up to three months to complete. Each editor works differently. Sometimes the editor works alone and shows the day or weeks work to the director and producer, Sometimes the editor and director work together, discussing every nuance. As I got told by John Gilbert in my interview with him.
First Cut
The first cut is a basic cut that is accepted by the editor, the director, and the producer. every shot is in the right places, although changes can still be made. The later film is visible.
Hint: Never be afraid to let the first cut ‘rest’ for a few days so everyone involved can see it with fresh eyes.
Fine Cut
The fine cut no longer focuses on the entire film, but on the details of each and every cut. This makes the film look more like a film and good for the first cut.
Final Cut
When a fine cut has been agreed with the editor, director and producer, the sound designer, music composer and title designer join the editor. Sound effects and music are created and added to the final cut. When everyone has agreed with the final cut, the Edit Decision List is sent to the lab where a negative cutter ‘conforms’ the negative to the EDL in order to create a negative that is an exact copy of the final cut.

Editing this film has taken a lot of time to edit. I found it hard to get back into the editing since the last time I edited was it 2014 near July so a lot a year ago. at high school I found it easier to skip class and edit the whole day and get it done and not having to wait 3-4 day before I can even touch the edit again. when I used this program to start with I did not like it coz I was used to using final cut pro, but I think this one will grow on me.

this week I spent a good 2 hours logging the short film ‘Admit One’. it was quite a long and painful process. logging is where you take every shot and describe what is happening in the shot as well as what the shot type is eg CU MCU WS etc. it's not something I would like to do every time but if I have to I will. logging is re-watching footage and making a side note of the best take
